How do I set up the AI assistant?

Open ⚙ Settings → AI CONFIG, choose a provider, and paste your API key. Each provider shows a "Get your key ↗" link. Your key is stored encrypted in your operating system's keychain — REKH's interface cannot read it back, and it is never sent to us.

Prefer not to use a cloud provider at all? Choose Ollama to run a model entirely on your own machine.

Is my browsing sent to the AI?

Only when you use it. When you ask a question or run an action, the visible text of the current page and your prompt are sent to the provider you chose. Nothing is sent while you're just browsing. See the Privacy Policy.

I forgot my Vault master password. Can you reset it?

No — and that's the point. The Vault is encrypted with a key derived from your master password. We never receive it and hold no copy, so there is no reset, no recovery, and no backdoor. If it's lost, the contents are unrecoverable. Please store it somewhere safe.

Why won't Google let me sign in inside REKH?

Google blocks sign-in from embedded browser views for security. If a sign-in fails, complete it in your regular browser, then bring the resulting API key or link back to REKH.

How do I set up the VPN?

REKH works with any SOCKS5 proxy. In ⚙ Settings, tap a recommended provider to prefill its details, or enter your own proxy rules. Tor is free and works locally; Mullvad is our recommended paid option. If the proxy fails, REKH fails closed — traffic is blocked rather than leaking unprotected.

Does REKH block ads and trackers by default?

Yes. Ad/tracker blocking, sponsored-result hiding, and click-tracking protection are on out of the box. You can toggle any of them in Settings.

Is REKH free? What is REKH AI+?

The browser and its privacy features are free. REKH AI+ is an optional paid tier that runs AI through our own servers so you don't need your own API key. You can always bring your own key, or run local AI, at no cost.

Reporting a security vulnerability

We take security seriously. If you believe you've found a vulnerability, please email security@rekhbrowser.com with the details and steps to reproduce. Please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing publicly. We're grateful for responsible disclosure and will credit you if you'd like.

Reporting content

REKH is a browser — we don't host, control, or moderate the websites you visit, and we cannot remove content from them. If you encounter illegal content online, report it to the site's host or the appropriate authorities in your country. If you believe REKH itself is being misused, contact support@rekhbrowser.com.
